The body of Marco Troper, the son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, was found in the dormitory of the University of California, Berkeley (USA).
According to reports from Mirror, Marco Troper (19 years old) was discovered deceased at the university’s dormitory on February 14th.
Authorities received reports of an unconscious student at the Clark Kerr dormitory, part of UC Berkeley. The cause of Marco’s death has yet to be determined, but Esther Wojcicki, his mother, believes he may have passed away from drug overdose.
Esther Wojcicki shared with SFGATE that Marco had used some form of drug, and while they were unsure of its nature, it was a type of narcotic.
On Facebook, Esther Wojcicki described her grandson as a “mathematics genius” and “adorable.” She also expressed the family’s sorrow over the loss and recounted Marco’s enthusiasm for studying at the university.
Marco Troper, a first-year student majoring in mathematics at UC Berkeley, had just begun his second semester. With an affluent background and his mother being Susan Wojcicki, who owns a substantial fortune, Marco was also known as one of America’s true “rich kids.”
The family is awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death. This process is expected to take about 30 days from the start of the investigation.
