BTS stands out as the only K-pop representative on the list with two entries: “Spring Day” (ranked 280) and “Dynamite” (ranked 347). About “Spring Day,” the magazine wrote: “As a timeless reflection on friendship, sorrow, and nostalgia, ‘Spring Day’ is a prime example of BTS’s unique ability to convey complex emotions through mainstream pop music. The powerful 2017 ballad features excellent vocals and soulful rap, as the group evokes a range of emotions about loss and strong hopes for the future: It’s also a tribute to the teenage guests who lost their lives in the 2014 Sewol ferry disaster. ‘Spring Day’ creates powerful artistic material from desolation and remains among the group’s most beloved songs.”

For “Dynamite,” the magazine commented: “The song marked BTS’s first number-one hit in the US as well as their first English-language track. ‘Dynamite’ is a pivotal moment for Korean acts conquering the world. BTS used their vocal talent, led by the vibrant and youthful Jungkook, to deliver this song – co-written by British producer-songwriter Dave Stewart and Jessica Agombar. Dave told Rolling Stone that Columbia Records was looking for a crossover hit in English for BTS: ‘It had to have a certain pace and excitement… something I’m good at is writing a summary.'”

Despite their enlistment, BTS continues to find ways to stay on the minds of fans.
