“Expend4bles” Dominates 2024 Razzie Awards Nominations with 7

The action-packed film “Expend4bles,” featuring Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham, takes the lead in nominations for the 2024 Razzie Awards, as announced on Monday morning.

Also recognized as “The Expendables 4,” the movie secured a total of seven nominations for the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards. These include nominations for Worst Picture, Worst Supporting Actor for Stallone, and Worst Director for Scott Waugh.

Closely following “Expend4bles,” with five nominations each, are the horror films “The Exorcist: Believer” and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.”

Superhero films didn’t fare much better, with “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” each receiving four nominations.

The infamous award ceremony faced criticism last year for nominating 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Worst Actress for her role in the film “Firestarter.”

The show later retracted Armstrong’s nomination, issued an apology to the young actress, and adjusted the nomination process to exclude actors and filmmakers under the age of 18 from consideration for the awards.

In early 2022, organizers also rescinded a Razzie given to actor Bruce Willis following his diagnosis with the cognitive disorder aphasia.
