Revelation: Real Madrid Doesn’t Pay Players Monthly or Weekly Salaries

In professional sports, clubs are always required to pay player salaries promptly. In European football, although player wages are often described in weekly terms, most teams typically pay on a monthly basis.

However, this rule does not apply at Real Madrid. The club, which boasts 14 Champions League titles, only pays its players twice a year on a regular basis, with no exceptions.

This information, considered relatively unusual, was shared by Andy Townsend, a commentator for the Premier League and CBS Sports, on talkSPORT: “Michael Owen once told me about this. When you sign a contract with Real Madrid, you only get paid twice a year. You’ll want to perform well until the end of the year when December comes and the money is transferred to your account.”

Real Madrid’s salary payment practice is quite unique in the world of sports. However, the Spanish royal club has not officially confirmed this issue, and all current information comes from the testimonies of former players who have played for Real Madrid.
