Despite Milan’s 4-2 loss to Monza on Sunday, there was a bright spot for USA fans as Christian Pulisic made a significant impact off the bench. Trailing by two goals before halftime and reduced to 10 men after Luka Jovic’s red card, Pulisic showcased his skill with a golazo in the 88th minute to level the game.
After a failed clearance by Monza’s defense, Pulisic received the ball in the box from Malick Thiaw. With quick footwork, Pulisic created space and unleashed a powerful shot past Michele Di Gregorio.
This goal marked Pulisic’s seventh of the Serie A season, along with six assists, ending a nine-match scoreless streak. As Milan prepares for an away Europa League tie against Rennes, Pulisic’s timely goal boosts confidence for the upcoming fixture. Despite conceding twice after Pulisic’s goal, Milan aims to bounce back in both European and domestic competitions.
With crucial matches ahead, including a showdown against Atalanta in Serie A, Milan relies on Pulisic and Rafael Leao to provide attacking balance. Pulisic’s impressive goal serves as a catalyst for his confidence as Milan strives for success on multiple fronts.
